We purchased about 35 of these monitors for use in two computer labs. These were purchased with matching computers.
It was interesting to see the look of amazement on the faces of students and faculty alike when they saw these machines. Even diehard Windows users leave with Apple envy.
These monitors have nice color display capabilities and provide a cool, sophisticated and contemporary look to any lab or office space. They maintain the look and family identification of their iMac siblings.
I could talk for a long time about their strengths, but I feel that there is a weakness in the monitor's quality. Of the 35 monitors that we have purchased five have gone bad. Four of those went bad during the warranty period and were shipped at Apple's expense to a repair facility and fixed. One of the four had to make a return trip within the repair center's warranty period. The fifth monitor went out after its warranty expired. If we choose to have that monitor repaired, we will have to pay.
Would I buy another Studio Display? Only if I planned to purchase an extended warranty or planned to have a generous replacement budget.
