Pros: Nice image - at first.
Cons: Huge footprint, lousy reliability, awkward adjustment buttons
The Bottom Line: To be avoided unless you're paying less than $30. You might get a few months out of it before it's unusable.

| ecrase2500's Full Review: Apple Studio Display 17 inch CRT Monitor |
This is in reference to the earlier generation of blue or graphite displays. I've not tried the clear one yet.
These monitors are pretty, but don't last. I'm on my third or fourth, now - I've lost track. The IS departments at two different companies where I've worked have replaced mine for various reasons. Either they go "POP" and stop working, or they go "POP POP POP POP" and the brightness and geometry settings randomly cycle. The one I've got now and the one previous to it have this weird tendency to vary the pincushion of the entire screen based on what the screen's displaying. White seems to widen the display area and black shrinks it.
Although the tripod base on it creates an air of space, you can't slide your extended keyboard under it without angling it, and it prevents me from pushing it as far back on my desk as I'd like, because the back leg will fall off.
The adjustment buttons are stiff and awkward to operate, although this monitor does offer a wide range of adjustability.
These monitors may have been nice when new, but from what I've observed, fail frequently and prematurely.
