The Bottom Line: Although it can get scratches, this little mp3 player's intuitive interface and large capacity will make this my mp3 player for life. (or until apple makes something better)

second update:
I am so CLUMSY!! This time I dropped my ipod while running on a gravel road (of course face first) Was the screen scratched? Nope, didn't do it any harm at all!! I have also left my headphones in my pants pocket while they went through the washer and dryer (forgetful) so there is some more to add to the durability of this thing!
update:
This thing is extremely solid! I dropped from about five feet onto a concrete floor, face first. I thought I cracked the screen, but I didn't the only thing that was wrong was that the middle-button was squished in... Then about two weeks after that incident, I left the iPod in my pants pocket after I took them off. Then I stepped on it (whoops) and now the middle button isn't squished in anymore!! lol, so don't worry, this thing may look extremely delicate, but it is incredibly durable ;)
Well I have had an iPod for about a month now and I thought I should write a review over it about now.
The first thing I noticed about the iPod was the packaging, the typical elegance of Apple packaging, Beautiful. When you open the box it seems as if the iPod is floating in mid air on a plastic stand thingy.
Enough of the packaging. I immediately took the included firewire cord and plugged it into my iBook, iTunes opened and bam my whole music collection (1.9 GB) was on my iPod in less than five minutes!!!
After I transferred my songs I plugged in the included head phones (great sound if only the cord wouldn't get so dang tangly) The sound quality was great and very loud!! I just couldn't believe there was all those songs in the palm of my hand!!
Speaking of the palm of my hand, I had no idea it was so oily, you will notice how oily your had is too when you look at the metal back. It picks up your finger prints very easily and it got the point as to where I could draw pictures in my hand oil (GROSS!!) The metal also scratches easily. It is completely covered in scratches right now and Ive only had it a month! I guess that really isn't a giant con, but when you get a really cool-looking gadget, you want it to look nice.
The main place I use this iPod is in my car, cruising with friends, going to college, or going to work. It is my little crusing buddy. It's scroll whell selectioin thing makes it a lot easier to find a song when I am going 70 Mph down a busy highway. My iBook is jealous because it used to sit next to me on my car rides, now it has to stay in my backpack. Also the iPod's battery is a little bit stronger than my iBook, like 8 hours stronger ;)
Also I have a iMac at home and I sync my music on that instead of on my iBook so I can have room on the tiny harddrive (Thats a different review) I really don't like the feature where you can upload from only one computer. Because if I get a CD on the road I won't be able to listen to it until I upload it at home or tell the iPod to sync to my iBook and only have that CD. OH WHOA IS ME MY LIFE IS SO HORRIBLE.. LOL :)
All in all this thing is a great little device that frees me from having to drag my iBook everywhere.
