Cons: expensie but worth it
The Bottom Line: buy a macintosh...you will not regret it...they truly are the best computers in the world.

I just bought this black macbook yesterday because I had an ibook G4 and the charger prong broke off inside the computer. It no longer turned on and I desperately needed a computer. We went to the Apple Store in the mall and I chose the black macbook because it is the top of the line macbook below the pro, and comes with 160 gb hard drive versus the 40 gig that my ibook had. It also came fully equipped with a combo double layer super drive which can write Cd's and DVD's. The screen is upgraded by an inch from my old one, and is nice and glossy. The ocmputer is incredibly fast and has a new sleek design making it only 1 inch thick. the keys are spaced apart for comfort so you can spread your fingers out more. This laptop was much more pricey than my ibook was but it is well worht it. the basic price for this laptop was 1500 dollars...however it is almost a necesity to get the apple care proteciton plan which i didnt the last time i got my ibook, which is the reason that i bought a new one. After taxes this computer came out to about 1900 dollars. while we were at the apple store, we bought the new 20 inch imac for the house too, which looks realy nice but has yet to come out of the box.
Apple has really done a good job redesigning there notebooks. Some of the major improvements that apple has made from the iboook to the macbook are the magsafe charger. The charger is a magnet that attaches to the computer, so when you trip over it, it detaches from the computer with causing damage or taking the computer with it. The screen is brighter and sharper and bigger. The Cd drive is upgraded, as is the memory and the hard drive size. The macbook comes with 1 gigabyte of memory, whereas, the ibook only had 512 megabytes. the hard drive is 160 gig whereas the ibook ony had a 40 gig. the keyboard and the whole body is redesigned. this is by far one of the best computers that i have ever used, and i hope that its performance stays the way that it is right now... one of hte major benefits to getting a mac is that there are no viruses for macs because apples come with the best antivirus software that is built into the computer. therefore you dont have to waste your money on those expensive anti virsus subscriptions for the windows computers. my ibook g4 never got a virus or pop ups, and i hope that htis computer doesnt either. We bought the imac for the house because the dell was so crappy and had 153 virus infections on it. buy an apple because spyware is virtually impossible ot get too. spyware is dangerous to you r privacy. because they can look at your credit card numbers and steal your identity.
