Ease of Use:
Quality of Tech Support:
Pros:Everything is great. If you don't like Mac OS, you can put Windows on it.
Cons:Buy a cover to protect from scratches.
The Bottom Line: This computer is for anyone. If you're unsure what kind of computer to buy, get this and buy a copy of Windows. Get the biggest harddrive if you dual boot.
This was one of the best things I've ever invested in. I bought the MacBook Pro for use in college and for teaching, as well as recording and personal usage. The screen is big enough, and crystal clear. I would not go with the 13 inch version because it is a little bit too small for my liking. The 17 inch model is a little too large to keep in my backpack, and also significantly more expensive. I use this computer to do research for all my classes, as well as prepare lessons for my own students. Macs generally are not effected by computer viruses (they attack mostly PCs) so it's the only computer I use to do Internet searches with. Recently I found myself for extra time to get back into gaming. Since a lot of games are not out for Mac, I had to put Windows on it. I used a 32-bit version of Windows XP with Service Pack 2 on it, and it works great. I've honestly never seen Windows run so smoothly before. Since I don't use the Windows partition for Internet (besides the initial Windows updates) I don't have any malware or viruses on my Windows boot. I want to upgrade my version of Windows to 7 because it's a lot more powerful than XP. The gaming experience is flawless. So far, I've been able to put every new game on the highest resolution and not have any lag.

Back to Mac OS, this operating system is the most stable operating system for all applications. The heaviest work I do is audio and video editing, which takes a lot of RAM to run. My Mac only has 4 gigs of RAM, and that is plenty to have to multi-task while running these programs. The iSight camera attached to the notebook takes great photos and videos in comparison to the other cameras on the market, so there is no need to upgrade that. The lightup keyboard is great at night. You can set it to be on or off. The battery lasted me over 10 hours when I was just web surfing, but now it lasts the advertised 7 hours, which is still amazing. This is also NOT the type of battery that you need to run down all the way to keep in good shape. You only need to run it down to 0% every few months to make sure it stays in good shape.
I love everything about this computer. It is the first laptop I've ever had, and I still feel like it's a new computer every day.
