billhnj's Full Review: Apple MacBook Pro MB990LL/A 13.3 in. Notebook
The macbook is wonderful. The operating system is wnderful. I bought a macbook aluminum only to find out they stopped making it 3 mos. later. Anyway I bought the Pro to keep up with the Jones. Whats really happening now and its true for any company but especially shocking with apple is there heavy handed way they deal with there customers. Send them plenty of money for things and they are your friends. dont opt for the expensive extras and well... twisting in the wind comes to mind. They used to be very friendly in the stores but theyve changed policies. macbook 100 dollars less??? Not when they want that 100 bucks back for some sort of BS service to move the stuff from you old computer onto the new one. I almost bust a gut! I did finally manage to file transfer myself but it was very frustrating and lengthy and would have taken 20 mins at the store in the old days. 100 dollars! so no, the computers are not cheaper. Also, they push this apple care on you. Its 250 dollars more! This is to provide you with additional coverage and phone service. So as apple sales rise services will fall just like anywhere. they act like there so nice and friendly but there sharks like anyone. I went to Mac to get away from nonesense with windows. now that there will be nonesense with apple I would definately consider going back if MS if ever they got a great operating system again. Apples hamfisted control over anything you buy into with them is insane.
