| jorgejorge's Full Review: Apple iPod 1st Generation 10 GB (MAC) MP3 Player |
What isn't to love about the iPod? It is one of the few products that lives up to every bit of marketing hype. Yes, it really does hold 2,000 songs (actually, a few more than that). Sound quality is quite good. I usually hate ear buds, but the ones Apple supplies have surprisingly good bass, and fit my ears acceptably well. Plug in a pair of high quality headphones, and you realize how good sound can be. For the true audiophile, you can play AIFFs as well as MP3s.
Integration with iTunes couldn't be more intuitive. Thank you Apple for once again making something that does the work for you. Just plug the pod into your computer, and the battery charges and playlists sync up.
The iPod's user interface is leaps and bounds above anything else out there. The light is great at night (think Timex indiglo)
The iPod is truly pocketable, something that is easy to take anywhere.
With the clock, contact info, and calendar features, I find myself using it far more than I expected.
The remote clips to clothing, and I found myself using it more than I expected (had originally thought it would end up as a glorified extension cord).
My iPod has never crashed, never skipped.
You'll see that I gave it all 5s as ratings. It deserves every one of them.
It's not priced to be an impulse buy, but I can think of few products I've ever had that have worked so well.
