Alright, I know everyone is wondering. What’s so great about this player that it still costs nearly $500 for the 20 GB version. You’ve seen the Arcos Jukebox mp3 player comparable to this one. I have too. To be completely honest. The Ipod is probably the single greatest MP3 player on the market and I’ve gone through a few to reach this conclusion.
When you first hook it up to the computer, the songs are easily transferable. The firewire connection makes transfer quick. I put nearly 1500 songs onto the player the first time in about 45 minutes or less. Plus, the interface on the IPOD is extremely user friendly. It has a nice little scroll dial making it easy to quickly scan through your music collection. The only problem I have is with the inability to make playlists directly on the player itself. That has to be done from a remote computer and then transferred onto the player. I admit, there have been times at the gym when I wished I could have pumped in another playlist right then and there.
Battery life is also a little disappointing. I have to recharge the player daily. However, the memory on the ipod isn’t wiped out after total battery failure which is a plus. As of yet, I haven’t had a single problem. Not a single skip or even a glitch in the software. All in all, I’d recommend this to anyone. All my friends want one already.
