Test Strips are awesome for everyday testing, but you NEED to use a traditional test kit about once a week, and no less than twice monthly. We have a 20' X 40' inground pool. We have tried every brand and type of tester, chemical, filter, etc.
I had previously written a review on the test strips which I love. They make life so much easier especially when you have to test the pool almost everyday. The strips are quick and easy but only give a 'close' reading. The color shades vary and give you a good idea if any chemicals are out of balance but it is hard to measure exactly how much of any given chemical is needed to maintain the exact balance needed to keep your pool clear and clean.
The Aqua Chem 6 way Pro Pool Water Test kit comes with everything needed to get almost exact readings of chemical levels in your pool. This kit measures PH levels, Bromine, Alkalinity, Hardness, Stabilizer, and Chlorine. These chemicals must all stay balanced or it will result in algee, corrosion, illness to people, or even damage to your liner and filter system. It takes less than 10 minutes to complete all of the tests needed for a thorough evaluation of your pool water using this kit.
This kit comes with very clear and easy to follow directions as well as tips to keep your pool operating as efficiently as possible. The kit contains a clear chart on how to use the chemicals, how to trouble shoot problems such as cloudy water, and explains what the chemicals are and how to use them.
I highly recommend using an Aqua Chem test kit to everyone with a pool at least twice a month and using the test strips on a more frequent basis.
