Pros: Whitens teeth okay
Cons: To get the whitening effect, maximum time and effort is required
The Bottom Line: The price was a little higher than other whitening products but the results are about the same--the time, effort, and frustration was high.

I drink coffe, therefore my teeth stain. I keep up with whitening toothpaste but decided to try some whitening trays. I had used the strips in the past and found that they fall off and don't work well at all.
FIRST IMPRESSIONS I liked the ideal of having a tray. Surely this would solve the problem that I had with the strips falling off. The price was a bit high but hey, I'll pay a little extra for something that works. I put on the upper teeth tray. The directions say to press the gel ribbons on the trays to get the gel to spread to your teeth. No problem. I pressed the gel and to my surprise, the gel actually held the tray to my upper teeth. I then placed the lower teeth tray and voila! the lower teeth tray was also snugly fit to my teeth. That lasted for approx. 17 seconds. With both trays in, you really have no way to rid yourself of the saliva that builds up in your mouth. If you try to swallow, invariably, the trays come off. If you try to spit, the trays come off.
I lasted about 20 minutes with both trays before I had to spit them out. The directions say 30-45 minutes for each application.
SECOND ATTEMPT I tried to do one tray at a time. I applied the upper teeth tray only and that worked okay. Saliva management was a little easier and without both trays in, I was able to keep it on my teeth longer. However, when I spit it out after 45 minutes, I noticed that about half of the gel ribbon was still intact despite my diligent pressing of the tray around my teeth.
The bottom try worked out about the same. I made a sincere effort to squish the gel around my teeth but when I spit the tray out, about half the gel was still intact.
FINAL THOUGHTS Whitening: 3 out of 5 Sensitivity: 5 out of 5 (no sensitivity due to gel :-) Ease of Use: 2 out of 5 Time required: 1 out of 5
I had some slight whitening. It was noticeable to me but not my wife. I had no problems with gum sensitivity or tooth sensitivity. I regularly use Sensodyne (every other day) so that may be why.
The ease of use is bad. The time required to use one tray at a time every day is not realistic. 90 minutes per day may be feasible for some but I found that I just got frustrated and angry.
