At the beginning of this summer, I purchased "Armor all" new Car Wax in the paste format. The box is very well made and the screw cap keeps moisture and dirt out. The included sponge applicator is also convenient and ergonomically correct. I followed the direction on the box after thoroughly washing and drying my car. It is important to apply the wax away from the sun, preferably in your garage if you have one.

You need a wax applicator and the provided one is perfect for the job.
One large cotton cloth (dry) to wipe away the wax. Use cotton cloths type that are found in most gyms, a "Terry" cloth?

Directions:

Apply wax in moderate amounts on the sponge and wipe one body panel at a time using a circular motion.

After one panel is done, move to the next one. By the time you finish the next panel, the first one is dry to a haze. Using a clean dry Terry cloth, wipe the dry wax until shiny smooth surface is seen.

Caution:

Stay away from rubber pieces and chrome plated areas. Do not wipe away wax before observing dry haze, you must allow wax to dry.

After the first application, I noticed that my 2000 GTI had a mirror like shine, very impressive show-room like quality. The surface was very smooth. When it rains, there is considerable amount of water beadings indicating the strength of the wax. However, the first wax application faded away from the roof toward late July, about 2 months later. I re-applied the wax about a week ago and the water beadings are back.

Overall, I would say that the new Armor All wax is an excellent product. Easy to apply and gives a beautiful shine to the car as well as protection. A second coat is needed after the initial one.
