I had this Arrow Lt. Duty Staple Gun sitting around in my tool chest for several years. The model has been around in stores for years. I took it out to use to tack up some speaker wiring I was routing through a basement project I am working on.
Arrow has made staple guns for many years! My dad still owns his old T50 stapler that he purchased in the 1960's. And guess what? The same model is still available today - it is a standard classic.
I own MANY staple guns. I have a couple of electric guns. One of my helpers was using one of them to staple plastic to framing. I have an opinion of this one, but I wanted to see what he says about it too. The other one I lent out to a buddy who was working on a project at his house. I also own an Arrow T50 which is my standard choice for projects, but I misplaced it in my workshop. I own a Parker stapler, that is also good, but I can't find anyone who sells the staples. I wonder if they went out of business? I also own a Chinese staple gun that jams up all the time....
This little junior stapler works great! It performs as well as the bigger T50, however it is lighter, and it only shoots small sized staples. It worked like a charm for tacking up speaker wire. It is also good for tacking up posters, decorations, and the like - stuff that you will eventually pull down. This is because it shoots smaller staples that will not hold as well for heavier duty stapling, like the T50.
The tool has an all metal, chromed body. Although pretty, it is as tough as can be! I dropped it on a concrete floor a couple times and it did not even get a scratch. It has a standard type staple channel, with a spring loaded packing rod. When used, the staples get buried into the wood. The trigger mechanism is not hard to push in, and it is actually easy to use with a minimal amount of pressure. It seldom jams up on me, and on the rare occasion when it does, it only takes a few seconds to be back in business. It is made in the USA.
These staplers are sold in many stores. I've seen them sold in Home Depot and Lowes, for about the same price. They are competitively priced with other brands, but I believe the Arrow brand is a superior brand compared to some of the other products available: Ridgid, Black and Decker, Stanley, etc. I paid about $10 for my stapler several years ago. The price has not changed much (I had to pick up staples the other day and looked over the assortment of staplers).
I would highly recommend this stapler for light duty projects. It is small enough to tuck away in a tool box, or hang it up on a hood somewhere. I usually store all of my staplers in a tool chest along with the staples. Thanks for reading my review and best wishes for a nice day!
