Thresh's Full Review: Astro-Creep: 2000 by White Zombie
Well White Zombie is the band that led me to the path of really hard rock and metal, and it was this cd that addicted me to it. Of course I eventually bought the first one because I really wasn't that much into music... Ok i'm straying...
From the very begining of this album you are introduced to that spooky, horror aspect that Rob Zombie has pushed so far in his music. With Electric Head pt. 1 it feels like your riding in one of those haunted house rides, to all of a sudden come face to face with a hard hitting, fast music of White Zombie. Super Charger Heaven, the next song.. starts off with a cool little sound clip and then right into a song that makes you want to drive really fast and run things over (hopefully not for real). Some of the songs I don't particulary like to much like Creature of the Wheel, for some reason just doesn't do it for me, but of course More Human than Human has got that unforgettable intro that makes hum it all day long.. (did anyone know that More Human than Human was inspired by the movie blade runner?) I agree with Mr_D that the last song Blood Milk and Sky is pretty different than anything Zombie has done but it's done so well and has such a spooky element to it, it makes it all the more worth listening to.
I really think Rob did a good job on this follow up album, and it's actually worth those metal heads money.
