Pros: no carbs, no calories, no sugar
Cons: none really. they just aren't the best syrups on the market for low carb dieters
The Bottom Line: These syrups are pretty good, but not my favorite brand. I recommend them if my brand is not available.

| angelwings724's Full Review: Atkins Diet Sugar-Free Syrups |
On my never-ending search for low carb foods, I came across the Atkins Sugar Free Syrups. I thought this would be a great idea to flavor up some of my rather unappealing foods and drinks. So, let me tell you about them.
Flavors
Cherry
Chocolate
Hazelnut
Raspberry
Strawberry
Vanilla
Maple
Each tablespoon contains no calories, no sugar, and no carbs. This is a great thing for the low carb lifestyle. Anything that can add yummy flavor without adding carbs fits right into my pantry.
You might ask what you can do with syrup. It's true, low carbers don't have the pancakes and waffles that non-low carbers eat. However, there are several things that they syrups can be used for.
For instance, there are several low carb bread mixes, pancake/waffle mixes, as well as muffin and brownie mixes. Eaten in small quantities, these fit into a low carb lifestyle while still producing weight loss. The syrup adds that nice flavor to each of those without adding the stuff we don't want.
Another way that is easy and fun is adding it to tea, coffee, or club soda. It flavors these drinks up tremendously and adds a little "spice" to your meals.
I love making Italian sodas. Just add club soda or seltzer to a glass, add ice, and add some syrup, the amount depending on your taste as well as the amount of soda you have in your glass. You can use crushed ice or regular cubes. This tastes great.
Another way that I like using the syrups is for my low carb shakes. The shakes themselves aren't too tasty, but with a tablespoon of syrup, they are much easier to ingest.
As for the taste of the syrup....it's ok. That is about all I can say for them. I have tried all of the flavors and the vanilla seems to be the best. However, there is another low carb syrup on the market that is so much better than the Atkins brand. But that doesn't mean that I wouldn't use them if I couldn't find the brand that I normally get.
The consistency isn't quite as thick as regular syrup. There is a slight after-taste due to the sweetener added.
Ingredients: Water, Flavorings (depending on which syrup you choose), Caramel Color, Cellulose Gum Sucralose (A NonNutritive Sweetener), Less Than 0.1% Sodium Benzoate (To Preserve Flavor Quality), Citric Acid.
You can purchase Atkins syrups at many grocery stores, health food stores, low carb stores, or online. The cost is generally about $4.00 for a 12oz bottle. This bottle will last quite awhile because it doesn't take very much to sweeten anything with this product.
My final thoughts on Atkins Syrups....I do like them, just not as well as my regular brand. If they are the only thing available, I recommend them.
Thanks for reading.
