Some tips and tricks for using Atkins Syrups!

Pros: flavored syrups are better than nothing! great substitutes
Cons: small bottles, big prices.
The Bottom Line: Its delicious, if you know how to use it and get creative. Theres lots of things you can do with these syrups that make for a wonderful dieting experience.

I've been on this Atkins diet on and off for two years now, and its worked wonders for me, really. I've dropped over 30 pounds at my own pace and managed to keep it off for a long while now, without doing anything special. :) I love it, its great just to pick up whenever I am feeling blah.
My father also is on this diet from time to time, and he's gotten very experimental with all the different products, sweetners, etc. He seems to love playing around in the kitchen with low-carb solutions. I'm going to pass along some of the tricks to you, the low-carb dieters. Hopefully you'll find these yummy. :)
The cherry syrup is great for using in diet sodas, to give it a little kick. I get really sick of diet rite (the only soda made with sucralose - its the only thing my father will allow in the house), so often I will mix in the syrup to diet soda, it makes it kinda like a roy rodgers drink...its a little fun and very tasty.
I really think the pancake syrup is waaaayy too thin and much too...chemical, to really make a good substitute. We have found that by adding a few things to it, you can keep the carb count low and make it more authentic. Try mixing some of the pancake syrup,some butter or margarine, and some Splenda (a sweetener available in most grocery stores - check it out!) in a bowl, and microwave the mixture for 10 or 15 seconds, till its warm! I find this thickens the texture of the syrup a bit and makes it a lot more delicious. It tastes like real pancake syrup! And no carbs! Yum yum! I hope you enjoy these little tips. :)
