| Lisa_J's Full Review: Atkins Endulge Peanut Butter Cups |
After reading various books that support the decrease or elimination of foods that have a high glycemic carb. level, I have been attempting to eat better. When I follow the recommended dietary regimens there is considerable improvement in my skin tone. In fact the puffiness that sometimes invades my facial area is eliminated.
But lets face it, snacking is common, and often it is the foods we shouldnt have, that we crave the most. Such is true with regard to chocolate and other sweets. Lately I have tried several snacks from the dietary section of a local retail store. One day I was craving Reeses peanut butter cups (I usually avoid these because consuming them tends to lead to blemish eruptions), and decided to try Atkins Endulge Peanut Butter Cups. I was impressed with the low-carbohydrate level, and the picture on the package was enticing. At less than one dollar for the small package, this is an affordable snack option.
The appearance of the Atkins Endulge Peanut Butter Cups is similar to Reeses peanut butter cups, or other chocolate cup type of candies. Yet you are getting a sugar-free alternative that works within diets requiring carb. restrictions. The middle of these cups offers a creamy peanut butter filling, and the outside is coated with chocolate.
Do they sound great? I will admit that they are good, but there is a definite difference in taste, between the Atkins Endulge Peanut Butter Cups and the traditional Reeses. The outside chocolate had a slight waxy taste, and the texture of the inside varied between the candies. I suppose the best way to describe it is that some just dont taste as creamy as the others do. I am not sure if this is because of shelf life difference, or manufacturing variance.
If you are following the Atkins plan, or if you are attempting to achieve a low carb diet, the Atkins Endulge Peanut Butter Cups are a palatable snack option. Pleasantly, I didnt find myself craving more after the one package (contains three cups) serving, and this was a hunger-satisfying snack. As is true with most snacks, I was thirsty, which was easily quenched with water.
Because I try to limit peanut intake, Atkins Endulge Peanut Butter Cups will be a rare purchase, limited for those times that I crave a peanut butter cup. But I will mention that my friend Liz is quite fond of these, and other Atkins Endulge foods.
