Pros: Great battery life (digital mode). Good size and weight.
Cons: Limited and annoying ring choices. Function menus a little complicated.
The Bottom Line: If you want a fairly inexpensive, good phone, with voice & text messaging, good battery life, and good portability. Definitely choose the Audiovox CDM-4000XL.

| zho2's Full Review: Audiovox CDM 4000 Cell Phone |
The Audiovox CDM-4000XL is a good phone for the money. The battery life is what I'm most impressed with. The coolest features about this phone are the simple way to store and retrieve phone numbers, and the keypad lock feature.
I don't have text or voice mail service, so I'm not sure how well those work on it, but everything else is pretty good.
Aside from a couple of strange incidents, this phone has been good to me. The one time I somehow enacted the 911 emergency feature without realizing it, and another time it called a friend on it's own (while in my pocket). But if I had the keypad-lock feature enabled, neither of those things would have happened most likely.
The only peeve I have with it is the limited choices in ring types. I don't like any of them, and there are only about 15 to choose from.
Overall, I have to give this phone a good score, it's a lot better than the bulky old NEC I used to have.
