Using throw away batteries is like having a small hole in a pocket. You keep losing coins one by one and in the end it ads up to be more than just a little loose change.

Rechargeable Vs. Regular

It wasn't until perhaps a year ago that we were turned on to rechargeable batteries and the charger that keeps them powered and fresh. We were foolish not to have begun using them years ago. We use the Energizer, Quick Charge Battery Charger (CH15MNCP4) almost exclusively for the AA batteries in our digital cameras. We also have and use our first charger a Duracell (CEF80NC) for the same AA batteries that we use back and forth in our cameras.

We still purchase regular AA batteries for many other items, especially gifts of kids toys that are taken home by them. They cannot be given extra life in this charger. There are warnings stating to never to do so.

The Charger

This charger, that has the Energizer name on it, came with four Energizer AA Batteries. The green colour is easily distinguishable from regular batteries. The Duracell are also green in colour.

The charger gives energy to AA and AAA NiMH (Nickel Metal Hydride) batteries in just fifteen minutes. We are pleased with the AA rechargeable batteries that came with the charger. The batteries can be charged hundreds of times. It makes them economical in short time.

I like that the batteries snap in well and come out easy enough and an indicator light system lets the owner know when batteries are ready to go. The charger is not cumbersome in size and takes up little space in our travel bags. It plugs into basic 120volt power.

Our Experience

The Energizer & (CH15MNCP4) Quick Charge Battery Charger cost us about $45 with the batteries that have lasted hundreds of charges already. The batteries last well for our use in our digital cameras. We use the camera all day taking dozens and even hundreds of photos. To add to that my wife is forever checking and deleting photos and constantly opening and closing the camera and she still has power left. When we get home or back to our hotel room we put them back in the charger and in just a little while they are ready to work again. We just wait for the red light to turn green and we are good to go. The good thing is that we both use rechargeable batteries. She needs four and I need two. Within a half hour all the batteries are charged to about 80% capacity. If we need a full charge about half an hour on a set will do the job.

I believe these batteries and the charger to be an excellent value. The charging system has paid for itself long ago and we do not have to make trips to stores picking up batteries when on the road. This is especially meaningful to us when we are in all inclusive resorts where batteries are hard to find or very expensive.

We will continue using this battery charging system for use in our digital cameras.
