ktbach's Full Review: Audiovox VBP4000 5.6 in. Portable DVD Player
this unit looks pretty good when you notice that all the prices are dropping... but beware, you get what you pay for... the unit is big and boxy, not so swift for smaller back seats... the discs are pretty well shock-protected, you don't get that much skip and flutter when you drive over bumps, but that is a moot point anyway since the clarity of the screen is absolutely unwatchable. the screen is an adequate size, but don't expect much contrast (there isn't even a way to adjust it) and the whites are entirely washed out and the shadows are completely black. forget about seeing somebody sitting in the shade of a tree during a bright sunlight scene.... you will have to adjust the only knob, brightness, to either see the details of clouds in the sky or the people in the shadows... in fact, you can hardly even read the menus... so don't be fooled, this isn't even passable by a child's standards... if you are in a store or on a web site and are contemplating this unit, either walk on down the aisle or scroll past it with your mouse... you will be much happier, and won't have to have the headache of returning this all around inferior unit.
