| caconti's Full Review: Aveda Botanical Kinetics Toning Mist |
For those of you not familiar with Aveda products and their widespread retail presence, their mission is to provide great health and beauty products that are environmentally responsible. I have been a big fan of their products for nearly a decade, and now make my purchases at Salon Cielo, an experimental Aveda salon in Washington DC's Dupont Circle.
I have been a loyal user of Aveda's Botanical Kinetics Toning Mist for nearly 3 years. A gentle mist containing white oak, witch hazel, rose water and peppermint, the toning mist is meant to both hydrate and rejuvenate skin. It has a slightly astringent quality, which makes it extremely helpful for those days when you haven't gotten enough sleep and your skin needs a bit of a pick-me-up. Just hold the bottle 10-12 inches from your face, and spritz 2-3 times for maximum impact.
In addition to it's ability to improve daily skin quality, the mist also has a wonderful scent. The aloe and mint notes bring relaxation while the mist hangs over your face, creating at least a moment's respite from a stressful and busy workday.
Why do I love this product? Because when you work in a stressful job in a dry office, one spray that can both hydrate and relax you is an absolute godsend.
In terms of skin types, the product is recommend for normal to oily skin--I have combination skin myself and find it consistently helpful across my various facial zones.
Available Sizes and Prices:
1.7 fl oz-- $7.00
5.0 fl oz-- $17.00
16.9 fl oz-- $38.00 (this is a refill bottle, not for direct usage)
My one warning with this products is that it comes in a glass bottle--if you're clumsy, beware!
At the end of the day, I would highly recommend this product looking for a refreshing daily facial spray with a bit more "oomph" than the Evian water in a can that has proven so popular lately. Combining good science with nature, Aveda delivers at a relatively reasonable price.
