Pros: soft spout is closer to nipple then hard spouts
Cons: very wide cup for small hands, leaks
The Bottom Line: If you are looking for a leak proof/spill proof cup, this is not it.

| figlet's Full Review: Avent America Soft Spout Training Cup Set |
A little after my son turned a year we tried to get him off the bottle. First tried the Playtex sippy cups which he'd used before. He didn't want anything to do with them. Then we tried about 4 different training cups. Along comes an ad for Avent Magic cup. I bought the 6oz first but the cup was so wide I decided to try the 9oz which was slimmer at the bottom and easier to hold.
The magic part about the cup was that it got him off the bottle. I think it's because it has a soft spout which even though it's flat, is similar to a bottle nipple.
However, no matter what I do, the cup leaks from the mouth where the cover is screwed on. It also has quite a few parts to be cleaned and assembled. The valve is two pieces, plus there's the spout, the cap and the cup itself.
Since the cup has a narrow mouth, it's hard to get into with a sponge and I need to use a bottle brush. It also doesn't fit well into the stroller cup holder as it's so wide.
If you're having a hard time weaning from the bottle, give it a try, but I find the Playtex cups much more spill and leak proof
