| abazarni's Full Review: Aviacsa |
I flew Aviacsa in January, they would not allow me to board the plane because my 3 week old baby only had a birth certificate. This was the first day the passport law came in to effect. I called US Customs and they said that they informed all airlines how to handle US citizens that are aboard. That was just to let them come back home and the customs in the US would put these travelers through additional screening.
I begged the Aviacsa crew to call US customs and confirm this. I showed them on the internet where it was stated in black and white. They refused to even listen to me and only said "LADY YOU ARE NOT GOING ON THAT PLANE". The next day I came back to the airport determined to get on the plane home. As I came back it seemed that day everyone already knew the procedure. One of the crewmembers said it was announced that morning and they without a problem let me on the plane.
When I came home I attempted to be compensated for the additonal costs I accuired because of their mistake. I asked them to compensate my hotel, taxi cost to get back and forth to the airport, telephone roaming charges I accuired trying to call customs, us consulate etc. And I felt it would be only natural for them to give me an extra flight or something to compensate for the stress and trouble I went through. Till today late october I did not receive any compensation from this airline the only response I received was that the airline HAS A RIGHT TO REFUSE TO BOARD ANYONE.
