| 42ENGLISH's Full Review: Avon Advance Techniques Hydrating Shampoo |
Recently, I inadvertently ran out of my regular shampoo and conditioner thanks to my daughters trips to my bathroom to borrow my bath and shower products, among others. However, I have an assortment of shampoos and conditioners stored in my cabinet for such occasions which happen fairly often when you have a teenaged girl in the house.
I pulled out a few and chose Avons Advanced Techniques Hydrating Shampoo. I got it about a year ago, gratis from my friend who used to be an avon rep and hadnt even opened it yet. I havent been keen on Avon hair products in the past but figured it would be alright for a back-up. I had forgotten it was even there to tell you the truth.
Ingredients:
Water, sodium laureth sulfate, sodium lauryl sulfate, cocamide mea, cocamidopropyl hydroxysultaine, fragrance, methylparaben, glycol distearate, guar hydroxypropyltrimonium chloride, panthenol, dimethicone, hydrolyzed wheat protein, disodium edta, wheat amino acids, phytantriol, wheat oligosacharides, ppg-12-buteth-16, benzoic acid, phosphoric acid, c11-15 pareth-9, methylchloroisothiazolinone (and/et) methylisothiazolinone
This product comes in a plastic, silver, 11fl oz bottle with a flip-top cap that doesnt screw off. The shampoo itself is a pearly white and has a fresh, clean citrucy scent.
Avons Claim:
Created with an exclusive vitamin and protein-enriched, patent pending Balance B2 Complex to tame and reclaim dry or damaged hair. Hair is softer, silkier and beautifully nourished.
Lather and rinse the unique weather-responsive formula gently cleanses and rebalances hair, adjusting to moisture level. The result is beautiful hair so balanced, you are always in control. Suitable for daily use.
My Experience:
Before I start showering, I usually wet my hair and apply my shampoo first so that I can leave the conditioner in for a few moments before rinsing. I applied about a quarter size of this shampoo and worked it into my hair. It produced a really luxurious lather and the scent was delicious. That surprised me too.
After rinsing, my hair felt really clean and any build up seemed to be washed away. It did a good job on cleaning the hair. However, this product claims to be weather-responsive. How can a shampoo be weather responsive? I dont see how that can be unless you shower outside or program it to give a different result. Sorry, not falling for that sales pitch.
This product also does not seem to have too many natural ingredients which is more of a plus for me when buying a hair care product.
Conclusion:
I liked that Avon Advance Techniques Hydrating Shampoo really cleaned the hair without adding build up. I also liked the fresh, clean smelling scent. However, there are lots of products on the market that clean hair just as well. I dont care for the sales pitch, it just doesnt make sense.
I would recommend this shampoo as a nothing special, average product that cleans the hair well without leaving any build-up. I am not sure if this product has been discontinued but at around three bucks, its worth the money.
