Pros: Works well as eye pencil/eyeliner
Cons: Creases much too quickly when used as a shadow
I ordered Avon's Big Colour Eye Pencil in the celedon (kind of clay green) colour a couple of months ago. Some women, like one of my best friends, will not wear eye liner because she is afraid it will make her appear older than she is. When I go out I always wear eyeliner, and it's always been black. I like to put a little colour on my eyelids and wear mascara and black eyeliner on my eyelid and under my eye. I think it makes my eyes pop out and I really like the way it looks. I thought purchasing the Big Colour Eye Pencil would be fun and different.
Avon's Big Colour Eye Pencil looks like a kid's fat crayola crayon. It contains 0.056 oz of product. The colour I chose is celadon B501, and the reason I chose it is because it was featured in the Avon catalogue, and because I have green eyes. It is supposed to work as an eye pencil as well as an eye shadow. Avon says 'fast, easy glide-on colour lasts for hours. Waterproof.' It normally costs about $6.00 USD but I bought it on sale.
The first time I decided to use this product, I used it for an eye shadow only. I really liked the way the colour was so soft and easy to apply. However, it creased only after a couple of hours of wear. I decided to try it exclusively as an eyeliner and I was worried because the crayon is so fat. I thought it would be too much colour. I was wrong. I used the Big Colour Eye Pencil as well as a smaller black eyeliner and the results were very favourable. As an eye pencil, this product made the green in my eyes more noticeable. The green is shiny and sort of sparkly too, and I really enjoy the colour!
One thing I always worry about when I purchase an eye pencil is using it until it gets down to the nub and then losing it to the 'drawer that never gets used' because I am too lazy or forgetful to sharpen it. However, this time I planned ahead and bought a sharpener that will accomodate regular eye pencils and the fatties! I should be all set.
Overall, I would recommend Avon's Big Colour Eye Pencil as an eyeliner and not an eye shadow.
