Pros:Only takes a minute
Cons:Itches my hands, no smooth feeling, no flip top opening
The Bottom Line: A quick way to remove dead skin on your feet
There are a few items that I like to purchase when I come in contact with an Avon Representative. For some reason I have a hard time finding one so when I do order I do so in bulk. The best products for this are deodorants and face creams. For two years I utilized a neighbor’s son’s babysitter for purchasing Avon products. I stopped when the girl did not know how to take orders using a credit card and wanted a more personalized service.
I contacted the website a few times stating I was interested in selling the products. This took a long time to make contact with someone in my area that turned out speaking Spanish with little English knowledge. When I first joined this Epinions website I found a Representative who I could order via email. At that time I placed an order for Avon Foot Works Double Action Sloughing Cream for the impending summer season.
This is currently available for $2.99 at www.avon.com containing 3.4 fluid ounces in a tube. I would much prefer to have this come out with a squeeze flip top spout instead of the twist off lid that ends up having cream on the edges that needs to be wiped off after replacing the cap each time. I believe due to the texture of the cream that is why it does not have a spout. This cream is the same color of the oatmeal bath products but the texture is coarse. Since I have eczema and my hands cannot handle touching the Avon Foot Works Double Action Sloughing Cream, I put an amount into a warm wet washcloth and smooth it over the heel of each foot this way.
I prefer to sit on the edge of the tub after showering and apply cream at this time. Once the minute is up I scrub the heel using the washcloth and hose off the dead skin and particles of cream down the drain. I believe the words “double action” in the name of the product means “sloughs and smoothes”. While I tend to agree with the sloughs I always use Bare Foot Peppermint & Poppies Foot Lotion for the smooth finish that Avon Foot Works Double Action Sloughing Cream lacks.
You can use this after a bath, shower of a foot soak or foot bath. The idea is to massage after the minute is up to remove the flakiness from the rough dry areas on the soles of your feet. While it is not mentioned I would presume this is to be used only on your feet, but who knows for sure. To contact an Avon Representative you can call 1-800-FOR-AVON.
I am allergic to lanolin and try to bypass products that list this as an ingredient or even inactive ingredient. This is not found in Avon Foot Works Double Action Sloughing Cream. What you will find instead is paraffin, pumice, cocoa butter, rosemary extract, peppermint oil, fragrance and walnut shell powder. The scent is not over powering and quite pleasant.
I would not go out of my way to order just this item from an Avon Representative when I could easily find a similar product at Rite-Aid like the Bare Foot line. I prefer to use this during the summer months since I tend to wear sandals and go barefoot in the house walking about. Due to my skin condition there are spots on my feet that break out in rashes due to the sweat and wearing sandals. I am just happy that I can wear socks comfortably now and not worry about my feet itching anymore.
