countrygyrl's Full Review: Avon Magix Face Perfector **NEW**
I have always used a primer due to the fact I have very, very oily skin. To be honest, I always used Milk of Magnesia. However I have been wanting a "softer" look. I think I look to dry/matte anymore using Milk of Magnesia- I am closing up on 40 in a few years and perhaps my skin is changing (thank God).
My mother sells Avon and on a whim I purchased Magix. It was on sale for $7.99 instead of the normal $10.00 for 1 oz. of product. Cheaper than the only other two primers, namely Revlon and Rimmel, I have seen in mass market stores.
You can purchase Magix through your local "Avon lady" or online from Avon.com. Avon's website offers a complete ingriedent listing and reviews also.
Magix comes in a white, somewhat heavy plastic squeeze tube with a black screw off lid.
The product itself is white (yet applies clear), is somewhat thick- it can be kind of hard to squeeze it out of the tube. It has an almost odd thick powdery/gel type feel. It is basically silicone so it also has that slippery/slick yet not slimmy feel.
I only use about a pea size amount and it evenly and smoothy covers my whole face and eyelids. (I apply it with my fingers). I has a dry finish that leaves skin soft and smooth. It does blend like a dream and seems to dissapear onto skin leaving a smooth base for foundation.
My foundation applies quicker, easier, blends better and I have to use much less and it looks much better- perfected. My face stays perfect and fresh looking for up to 14 hours. I still have shine breakthrough on my chin (anywhere from 3-6 hours depending on the heat and what foundation I wear- currently I am using Avon's Ideal shade I do get longer shine control with Revlon Colorstay so your foundation will make a difference) so I do need to blot a few times a day but my face loks so good I don't really need a powder touch up unless I choose to.
I am very pleased with Magix and since it contains its own SPF of 20 I don't need to worry about choosing a foundation that contains a high level SPF also, which broadens my horizons somewhat.
Will continue to use Magix as my primer of choice.
