rngpie's Full Review: Avon Naturals Antibacterial Hand Gel
Being in the elderly care industry, I am very particular about keeping my hands washed at all times. But there are just sometimes it is not possible to wash my hands, yet I need an germ killer on me.
Driving a transportation vehicle is one of those times. I simply cannnot wash my hands and transport clients at the same time, yet after buckling one of my wheelchair patients in, the dirt on her wheels often make me feel less than germ free.
Due to possible allergic reactions and hurt feelings, I did not want to keep a container of bleach wipes in the vehicle.
I was so glad when Avon introduced the Antibacterial Hand Gel.
Avon Antibacterial Hand Gel
Avon Antibacterial Hand Gel is a handy 2.5 fl oz size. I love this because it is small enough to slip in my purse, pocket or just lay beside me in the console.
While it is an Antibacterial hand gel, the packaging does not scream "germ killer or you have germs so I have to use this stuff" like a container of bleach wipes would.
Instead it is an attractive tube with a small graphic on it which portrays the scent.
The gel comes in 4 great scents including:
Gardenia
Sea
Peach and
Vanilla.
I love the Peach which is a light peachy scent, and the Gardenia which is a heavier gardenia scent.
I do not care for the Vanilla, but it is true to Avon's other vanilla scented items which I personally dont care for either, due to the scent being to strong and heavy.
I have not tried the Sea.
Use
Just a dab will do ya, literally with this gel. Just a small dab and I feel completely germ free.
The gel soaks in fairly easy but does leave a slight sticky feel to my hands.
The scent is nice, but you can smell the alcohol fairly strong as well.
Effects
I have noticed with prolonged use, being several times a day, every day, that my hands do get quite dry and itchy unless I followup with a lotion.
As I said, the alcohol is pretty strong in this which fights germs but it also dries my hands out at the same time.
The mere $3.00 per tube has had no ill effects on my pocketbook however, and I have gotten less colds this year since using this product several times a day.
Conclusion
In conclusion, even with the sticky feel and alcohol fumes, I have found the Avon Antibacterial Hand Gel to be a welcome germ fighter in my home and in my vehicle.
I have had less colds, and am more confident working with the elderly knowing I have my germ free product close at hand.
