The Bottom Line: I like the entire Avon Planet Spa African Shea Butter line. It works well alone or together. This hand cream hydrates without greasiness. A littles goes a long way!

As I seem to constantly mention when I review Avon products, I am generally not a fan of the brand. I have been disappointed many times by their products. Still, when they get it right, they get it right and Avon Planet Spa African Shea Butter Hand & Cuticle Creme is right for me!

Packaging
This hand cream comes in a little 1.7 ounce plastic squeeze tube with a flip open top. The cream is white and smells like chocolate and toffee. Not as strongly as Avon Planet Spa African Shea Butter Foot and Elbow Cream, but plenty for me. It has more of a cocoa butter scent than a foody scent like the latter product.
My Use I bought the whole line of Avon Planet Spa African Shea Butter products because I really liked the ingredients and they reminded me of The Body Shop's Spa Wisdom Africa Spa line that I liked so much. This hand cream is thick but not overly so. It's a medium consistency cream and isn't greasy in the least. It smells divine and softens my hands quickly and effortlessly. My hands stay hydrated for a few hours, even after hand washing.
Although I generally prefer the Avon Planet Spa African Shea Butter Foot and Elbow Cream for my hands because it contains AHA which aids cell turnover, this hand cream is really great on my nails and cuticles and I don't have to worry about possible sunburn if I use the cream outdoors.
My nails are really dry and tend to crack and peel. My cuticles are always a mess. And my hands are washed so much these days that they need all the hydration they can get. Avon Planet Spa African Shea Butter Hand & Cuticle Creme gives my hands hydration, my nails moisture, and addresses my raggedly cuticles, softening them so I can deal with them. My hands are never greasy and they have a nice but subtle scent that lingers.
I just wish the tube was bigger than 1.7 ounces because I go through hand cream like crazy! While this cream isn't the only one I use (I have dozens!), it is one of my current favorites. It's simple but very effective.

You can purchase Avon Planet Spa African Shea Butter Hand & Cuticle Creme from the Avon website or from an Avon representative. The full price of a tube is $4.50 but Avon often has 3 for $9.99 sales and such so I stock up then. Amazon also sells this product but it's just an Avon website portal.
Conclusion
Is Avon Planet Spa African Shea Butter Hand & Cuticle Creme the best hand cream I ever used? No. But it's a good one and it is just the right consistency to use on a regular basis throughout the day. I prefer thicker, denser creams at night but, all day long, I find myself replenishing the lost hydration on my hands by dabbing a bit of the cream on and feeling the dryness turn to silkiness.
I give this cream 4 stars. I love the Planet Spa African Shea Butter Foot and Elbow Cream at night on my hands and sometimes during the day when I'm inside but I also like Avon Planet Spa African Shea Butter Hand & Cuticle Creme especially when I'm on the go and don't want greasy hands. It also has no AHA in it so sun exposure isn't an issue (except that I could still burn without the Alpha Hydroxy Acids on my hands, of course). Good stuff. Avon got it right!
