Packaging and Product
The mineral foundation comes in a round plastic jar, with a sifter top, and screw-top blue lid. The jar holds .21 ounces of product and measures 2 inches across and 1 inch high. The foundation inside the jar is loose, so the sifter top makes it easy to tap out a small amount of product. The tight fitting screw-top cap makes product spillage non-existent. I toss this in my makeup bag and have never noticed it spilling out over my other cosmetics.
Performance
I shake a small amount into the lid of the jar and use a Kabuki brush to apply evenly to my face. The product applies smoothly and evenly. It has no fragrance and the color is buildable -- meaning if you order a shade too light, you can build the color to perfectly match your skintone. This contains SPF15 which I really like, because it saves me a step of applying sunscreen first. At first, I had problems getting the makeup to cover my blemishes without looking cakey. I finally figured out that if I moisturize first, wait about 5 minutes, and then apply the mineral foundation, it has a much more natural appearance. Don't apply directly after moisturizing though, or it will not go on smoothly.
Once applied, the makeup stays on all day, without leaving my face oily or shiny, and because it's all minerals, it's safe to sleep in (I still recommend washing your face at night to remove the makeup, but should you fall asleep in it, it's much kinder to your skin than traditional liquid foundations). I have fallen asleep in this a few times and woken up with no problems. Normally, if I fall asleep with makeup on, my face is greasy and will start to break out. No problems like that, when falling asleep in Avon's Personal Match Mineral Makeup.
I have a mild case of rosacia on my cheeks and the Avon Personal Match Mineral Makeup evens out my complexion perfectly. Even on my "no-makeup" days, I apply just this, and still have a polished look. It applies very naturally and doesn't leave streaks. I have had no problems with this mineral makeup drying out my skin, irritating my skin or any other negative effects. A small amount is all you need -- I've used this for a month now and the jar still looks full. The product will last you a long time! Another plus to using powder foundation, is with all the new airline restrictions on liquids, you can take this carry-on! I travel frequently, so it may sound silly, but this is a huge plus for me.
Overall Recommendation
I would highly recommend Avon's Personal Match Mineral Makeup to anybody looking for an inexpensive alternative to Bare Minerals or other high end mineral makeups. For less than $10 (not including the cost of a brush), Avon's Personal Match Mineral Makeup allows you to create a flawless complexion in a minimal amount of time. Avon also offers a brush to use with the mineral makeup, but I would recommend purchasing a Kabuki brush instead. It really does make the application easier and more effective.
