Product Rating:
Pros: Great scent, AHA helps aid cell turnover, not greasy, works really well
Cons: 2.5 ounces is too small, sun sensitivity is possible
The Bottom Line: Avon Planet Spa African Shea Butter Foot & Elbow Cream contains Alpha Hydroxy Acids that exfoliate and reveal soft skin. Immediate soothing and long term results. I love it.
I generally am not a fan of Avon products but now and then I will find one or a few that I really like. I tried the Avon Planet Spa African Shea Butter line of body products and like them all. In particular, I like Avon Planet Spa African Shea Butter Foot & Elbow Cream because it contains AHA which aids in cell turnover and exfoliation while smoothing even the roughest of skin. The scent is yummy too!

Packaging
This cream comes in a 2.5 ounce plastic squeeze tube with a flip open cap. The cream is light tan and thick. The scent is that of chocolate and toffee, somewhat like cocoa butter but much more "foody" and heady. I like it a lot and I generally don't like chocolate smelling products.
My Experience
I saw that the whole Avon Planet Spa Africa Shea Butter line was on sale, so I bought all of the products in the line which include a hand cream, sugar scrub, a body mousse, and the Planet Spa African Shea Butter Foot & Elbow Cream. I was particularly interested in this cream because the actual name of the product is Planet Spa African Shea Butter Foot & Elbow Cream with AHA. The other products don't contain AHA and I find that the acid really works wonders on rough, dry skin.
When I flipped open the cap, I could immediately smell the heady scent. I only needed a pea sized amount for both elbows and just a bit more for my heels and feet. I noted that, while I was applying the cream to other body parts, my hands were feeling soft and supple. I now use this cream on my hands as well and they feel super soft.
The scent is strong at first but it does fade down to just a slight toffee scent after a short while. It lingers though! The cream immediately softens and soothes my skin and then, over time, the AHA helps to reveal fresh, new skin. I feel no irritation or burning when I use this cream. The acids are very gentle. The one caveat is that you shouldn't apply this cream and then go directly in the sun. AHA can sometimes make you burn easier than you normally would in the sun. While I have never experienced this, you really should heed the warning and use the cream at night and shower it off before heading out into the sun or use it indoors to be safe.
The cream isn't greasy and absorbs fast. It immediately makes a difference in my skin texture and, as hours and days pass, it works to gently exfoliate my rough skin and reveal soft new skin.
Planet Spa African Shea Butter Foot & Elbow Cream is my favorite in the line because of all of the above although the other products are good as well. I just prefer a cream with AHA in it if I can get it.
Buying Info
This cream can be purchased on the Avon website or through an Avon representative. It is also sold on eBay and a few other portals. It normally sells for $5.50 but is often on sale for $2.99 or less.
Conclusion
I really like Avon Planet Spa African Shea Butter Foot & Elbow Cream and will buy it again. I wish it came in a larger tube than just 2.5 ounces. Even using it sparingly, that amount doesn't last too long. I plan to stock up and buy a few tubes when it's on sale again. The Avon Planet Spa African Shea Butter Foot & Elbow Cream is my favorite in the line and it works great as a rough skin soother, a foot cream, and a hand cream. I give it 5 stars and I rarely give ANY Avon product 5 stars!
