Cons: Terrible shaving, lots of cuts, no grip, use lots of them
Do you enjoy getting nicked and cut while shaving? If you have masochistic tendencies, you'll be quite pleased to use the Bic single blade razors. About a year ago I purchased a case of these, and figured the savings would be worth it, considering that I was a bit tight on bills at the time. It was a mistake, as I learned there are better and less painful ways of dropping $30. Shaving is a necessity, and while it can be a bit expensive with increased prices on razors, it makes sense to pay a bit more to insure a quality experience.
Bic makes some excellent shaving products, but this one is disgraceful in that it would be better to use a pair of yard clippers to trim a beard or moustache. It does not matter if you shave dry or wet with these, as all these do is leave you with bloody stumps and stubble all over. While it is obvious that a single blade will not perform as well as a dual or triple blade razor, you have to use five of these each time for a somewhat close shave. It adds up in price compared to the more expensive selections, which is why these razors are a poor choice.
There is no grip whatsoever on these, and they can slip out of a hand easily. I had one actually break while shaving, and it is so easy to get cut with these. The blade is not sharp, but due to having to go over an area three or four times, you can expect profuse bleeding from shaving with these. Due to their cheap cost they do not pivot or allow any movement, and corners are especially challenging. If you want to shave your head, do not use these at any costs, or you will look like Frankenstein with puncture wounds all over your scalp.
Do not purchase these razors at any cost, and avoid them if they were given away for free. There are simply better performing razors, that may have a higher upfront cost, but they will deliver without having to use four or five each time. However, if you enjoy pain these are an optimal choice, and they will deliver lots of cuts without giving you a clean shave.
