Stable, controlling, and very maneuverable is the Babolat AeroPro Drive, and Babolat AeroPro Drive plus tennis racquet.
I regularly play with a Wilson Classic Pro Staff 6.1, and I like it for its overall 'standard' feel, and playability.
The AeroPro is 11.3 ounces, and the plus model (27 and a half inches) is much more playable for someone used to a heavier frame of 27 inches.
The Babolat AeroPro Drive offers outstanding feel, and control. With a 100-inch head size, and relative open string pattern, it gives the player the ability to hit solid groundstrokes with confidence as to hitting his target.
Utilizing woofer technology, the frame has some specs that give it such great zing: at the top of the head a narrow section creates more power; 3 an 9 oclock on the head has a standard section which provides more stability; a wider section in the throat creates more stability and allows a faster swing of the frame with less resistance.
On the volley the racquet gives a very good feel for solid placing the ball to either place on the court, and even for off hits, the volley still feels controllable.
On the serve the racquet has very good control with good power, with control being the larger percent of the equation.
As for weight the racquet is light, relatively speaking. The Babolat AeroPro Drive has 2 lengths, the regular 27-inch model, and the plus model with measures in at 27 and half inches.
I felt that the regular 27-inch model was a little light in my hands, although the swing feel and controlled power were clearly present.
I prefer the Babolat AeroPro Drive plus because the lightness of the frame, mixed with the additional half-inch length gives me the torque required for a sold stroke, without sacrificing any of my natural hitting form.
With many of the lighter frames I feel that those players with a traditional form, with a complete back swing and follow through are thrown by the weight difference of the new racquets.
With the plus frame the extra length give the frame more 'swing weight' so that during back swing and follow through, the stroke feels the same with out all the traditional weight distribution required with the heavier frames.
Not inexpensive the Aero Pro costs upwards toward $195, but if you want a great feeling racquet with control and good power, get one of these. Your game will gain from it.
