I recently found this book while we were in Alaska. It is easy to find in Alaska since it has a whale and Eskimo theme. I didn’t know it even existed. We have the CD for our 18 month old and I felt this board book would be a perfect complement to the CD.
The book has 32 pages of colorful pictures and stories. It is beautifully illustrated with whales, seals, bears and all sorts of wild life on the pages. The story follows the song to a T, so you can play the song and read the book at the same time. I felt this book would help my daughter visualize the song. It would help her understand what a baby what a baby whale is as well as see the story in her mind.
My daughter enjoys reading this book before bedtime, without the song playing, as well as reading it while the song is playing. This book is so rich in color that adults will enjoy reading it as well as toddlers. I highly recommend this book if you are a Raffi fan, or even if you want a quality book for your toddler.
