I received this bag as a gift (I would have been able to afford it on my own), and I must say, I didn't use it one bit until my son was about 2 months old. The first few weeks after he was born were way too hectic for a bag like this. I needed convenience, not style!

But, now that my son is older, I use this bag a little more....but only for special occasions (church, lunch with friends, etc) when I feel like I should be more dressed up and inconspicuous as a Mom. And it helps if I use this bag when I'm not alone....when my husband can carry the baby/push the stroller and I can deal with the bag.

For events like these, this bag is great. It is dressy, stylish, and SO far from the traditional diaper bag! The other day, someone actually stopped me in the mall and said, "I LOVE your purse, where did you find that?" She had no idea it was a diaper bag!

But it is also a little suitcase-ish. It's big and bulky and can get very heavy. Because of its hard sides, it doesn't fit in most stroller baskets, and it's far too awkward to carry over your shoulder AND push a stroller at the same time. (That's why it's hard to use if I'm shopping alone....I have no where to put it! Most of the time I try to hang it off the handle of the stroller, but it's so heavy I'm afraid it might make everything tip over!)

The way it opens like an accordion is handy and makes finding things inside the bag easier during diaper changes. But forget about it if you just need to grab a pacifier from the bag real quick! You can't just reach in and grab something....you have to open the sides COMPLETELY before you can get anything out. Very annoying when you just need one little thing!

So, there are some benefits and drawbacks to this bag. Therefore, I only use it on special occasions. Actually, I use it more like my son's suit case.....when we are going places to stay for a long period of time (church, restaurants, etc). But I definitely use another bag if I'm going to be strolling around and carrying other packages as well!
