The Baby Bjorn carrier definitely came in handy with my daughter. Before she was born everyone kept telling my husband and I that we needed to get a baby swing. They all said it was a lifesaver and that they couldn't have gotten anything done without it. We got a big expensive swing but when our daughter was born she hated it! We barely used the swing at all. The thing I was able to use was the Baby Bjorn carrier. I was able to put her in it and get the majority of my housework done. It was also nice for when I would need to go out and get some work done in the garden. My daughter had reflux so I think that the swing irritated her condition where as being upright in the baby carrier helped make her reflux feel better. I think she also liked to be held close to me. I felt that my back was well supported and so was my daughter. The carrier also cleaned up nicely when it needed to be washed. There really were no cons other than the fact that as my daughter got bigger it did become to difficult to carry her around in it.Basical it consists of two straps that cross in an X in the middle of your back. and then in the front there are is two feet holes for your baby to slide his legs into. They can sometimes be a bit challenging to get your babies legs into. But, once the baby is in place you buckle the side straps and baby is secure. The carrier worked for both my husband and I as it can be adjusted (I am 5 feet, he is 6 feet).
