| Magick1's Full Review: Baby Einstein Splash and Stack Color Cups |
Baby Einstein has always had a tremendous amount of toys, books, movies and games for the preschool kids. I received a lot of these items as gifts for my baby and other gifts have come along the way as she has been growing up. When it was time to switch over to the big girl bath, she received these Baby Einstein Splash Triangles from her grandparents so she could experiment in the bath tub. What child doesnt love bath toys, right? These are no exception. I think my daughter has had these for 3 years now, and they have not lost their appeal whatsoever!
The Toys
You get 4 splash triangles in this collection. They are red, green, blue and yellow. They gradually increase in size in order from smallest to largest, in the colors listed above (yellow being the largest). All of these triangles are considered equilateral triangles (all of the sides are the same size).
The red triangle is about 2 inches tall. The red triangle measures about 3 inches each side. The triangle has a little red crab on one side panel of the triangle and on one other it has a red bird in flight. This triangle lists red, rouge, and rojo across the 3 top sides of the triangle (English, French and Spanish) for the color red.
The green triangle is about 2 ¼ inches tall. The green triangle measures about 3 ¼ inches each side. This triangle has a friendly looking little green dragon on one side panel and a happy hopping frog on another. This lists green, vert, and verde across the top sides.
The blue triangle is about 2 ½ inches tall. The blue triangle measures about 3 ¾ inches each side. This triangle has a blue, smiling goat waving on one side and a blue dolphin jumping up on the other. The tops show blue, bleu, and azul.
The yellow triangle is about 2 ¾ inches tall. The yellow triangle measures about 4 inches each side. The yellow triangle across the top has yellow, jaune and Amarillo (English, French, and Spanish). On one panel of the triangle side it has a yellow duck wearing a red scarf smiling back at you when you look at him.
A unique thing with the yellow triangle is that the bottom of this triangle has 2 semi-circle (small) holes in the bottom along all 3 sides to allow for water and other items to slip through the bottom. The other triangles do NOT have holes in the bottom at all.
All of the triangles have nubby, soft, and squishy plastic corners on them. Therefore, there are no sharp edges to worry about on the triangles. And, if you have a little teething one in the house, they can nibble on these edges, sooth their aching gums and have a nice sized item to do that with, without having problems. These are super soft and very pliable. The triangles are extremely fun to play with in the tub too!
My daughter enjoys trying to fill up the yellow triangle with the other triangles to beat the draining. She always races herself to see if she can do it. I showed her a secret about keeping the yellow triangle bottom poised on top of the water in her tub and trying to fill it that way, and she is getting close. She wonders why it fills up quicker that way, lifts it up off the water to ensure it still drains and loses some. One day, she will beat the drain!
All of the triangles are lightweight and due to the plastic corners they will mostly float on the top of the bath water. Sometimes, they get water inside them, tilt a little bit and then they will sink and you have to do some fishing (which is what we do every time, because we have so many bubbles in the tub during bath time, you cannot see the tubs bottom).
Overall Impressions
These little triangles are very nice to play with and they are bright. The green reminds me more of a light Kermit the Frog color, the red a nice tomato red, the blue is a royal, bright blue and the yellow is a bright sunshine yellow. All of the images on the sides appear to be lacquered over, therefore there isnt an edge on the pictures to scrape or get pulled off. This is really nice, as we have had these in the bathtub many times and the pictures still appear brand new!
The play time my child gets from stacking these, unstacking these, filling one up with the other has been tremendous. She routinely tries to figure out which 1 triangle takes more red triangles to fill and she compares this to other triangles. She has her little game worked out and she alternates which one fills up all of the others and she never seems to bore of this game at all.
I am happy that she enjoys playing with these triangles and I am glad she received them as a gift! The puffy plastic corners are puffy enough that none of the triangles sits perfectly inside of the other without having some air get through them. This is nice because it helps keep the triangles from getting scummy and dirty.
If you have a little one that enjoys bath time, or maybe one that needs some coaxing, these triangles might do the trick, as they are awesome to play with in the tub! I know my child enjoys them tremendously!
