Pros:Moisturizes, Lasts forever, Cheap, Relaxing, Smells heavenly
The Bottom Line: This is a better choice than baby oil, just be sure to wash your hands ASAP to keep from getting goo on your clothes and in your hair.
Since I do not have a baby, I am not really sure why people buy baby oil to put on their kids. I just do not see the point. Personally I would go for regular Johnson and Johnson lotion. I know, however, know why I have been using baby oil as a daily beauty item be it Summer (for tanning) or Winter (to keep my legs moisturized).
Oooh a Freebie!
I have always been content with simply using regular, unscented baby oil for my daily moisturizing and tanning needs. One day my mother threw a bottle of Johnson and Johnson's Lavender Baby Oil Gel at me and told me to either take it and use it or toss it because she hated it. Cool, free baby oil (not that it is expensive, but free stuff is always great). The next day I rubbed it on my legs after shaving and fell in love with it. My legs were really moisturized and the gel did not run through my fingers and all over the bathroom floor like regular baby oil does. So now I have acquired a new product for my daily beauty routine.
Eww, What tha...?
On this first day as I continued to get ready for work I noticed that there was a lovely film of baby oil gel on my hands that stuck around even longer than that of regular baby oil. As I dried my hair I realized that little fuzz balls from my towel and stray hairs were now stuck onto my legs and it appeared that they would be with me all day. I admit that I do get little fuzz balls and hairs stuck to my legs even when I just use regular baby oil, but this was a little worse.
Okay, so it is not all that bad
I got dressed, went on to work. Since I was completely dressed and had long since washed my hands, the stickiness was gone and I started to realize that my road rage seemed to be a little tamer. The wonderful lavender scent seemed to calm me down and leave me without the need for perfume. I smelled lovely, my legs were moisturized, and I was calm for once. I am not sure how to avoid getting fuzz balls or hair stuck to you when using this baby oil gel, but if you can get over that minor little detail, after you was the gunk off your hands, you will be in heaven.
Another really great thing about using the baby oil gel as opposed to just baby oil is that a smaller bottle of the gel will last you much longer than the regular oil because you do not lose any down the sink or on your bathroom floor. The gel also keeps you from making this mess on your bathroom floor reducing the risk of slipping, falling, and busting your nose on the bathtub. If you do have a kid (like I said I do not have one so I do not know this for a fact), then I imagine that Lavender Baby Oil Gel would not only be wonderful for moisturizing their skin, but also helpful for when they are not tired, but you want them to take a nap.
