There are two reasons Britney Spears is burning up the charts right now: she’s cute and she can dance. The looks are to appeal to both boys and girls, but mostly girls, and the dance moves are for both sexes. If you have ever seen her live, or listened closely enough to her recorded albums, one thing will stand out; she can not sing, she has no range!
Like so much of pop music today, there is little talent outside looks and tight chorographical number designed to make kids envious. The airwaves are full of these manufactured groups: 98 degrees, and The Back Street Boys come immediately to mind, and factory’s are working overtime to churn out more. While slightly exciting to watch, it all blends together after a while into something manufactured to shamelessly separate you from your hard earned dollars by way of your kids! There is no message, there is no meaning, there is no talent, and there is no sense!
Ahh, I long for the days when music was written with depth, but oh well, there is always EWF, The Dixie Chicks, and Mozart!
