Lark729_89's Full Review: Back to Nature Cookies Chocolate Chunk 9.5oz
Because I had such satisfaction with my food purchases of Crazy Bugs Macaroni & Cheese, I decided to check out the other food products, mainly a dessert, that my local supermarket had on display in their Organic isle. Not wanting to squander all kinds of money on many products I decided to check out the cookie section and purchase just one kind of cookie.
When I spotted Back To Nature Chocolate Chunk Cookies 9.5 ounce box, I knew I had to buy them. After reading the print on the box, the calories and ingredients, I was assured I was getting the best cookies money could buy. I didn’t fall for the oversized picture on the front package but I do admit that after checking the quality of what I was buying, it was enticing to my dessert tastes.
When it came to snack or dessert time I so wanted to sit down after with a pen and stationery and write the company a letter telling them how their cookies have that "old fashioned taste" as specified on the box. After dessert that is just what I did and I did it the old fashioned way, writing a letter to Back To Nature on paper with a pen in hand, not on a computer. I wonder what those people at the Back To Nature Food Company will think with a handwritten letter?
These are all natural oven baked chocolate chunk cookies with an appetizing texture and tastes the way a cookie should taste, just right and no oily or sugary taste, just a natural taste the way home made cookies should taste.
They are made in Madison, Wisconsin at the Back To Nature Foods Company, the same company that makes Back To Nature Crazy Bugs Macaroni & Cheese Dinner that I recently reviewed. Epinions member, KMINER did bring it to my attention that she could not get an earlier review of mine by just using "content" and I thank her for that.

While checking the box for further valuable information on these cookies I was delighted to read some fine print that the company added on the very bottom in back of the box stating there is a rebate. It is listed in very tiny print. I needed magnifying glasses to read it. I have to admit that it is frustrating to read very small fine print.
It states that with a dated receipt the buyer can get a full rebate of this purchase up to $5.00. I was thrilled! "I got these cookies for free!" I exclaimed to my friend.
Unfortunately though I read on that this "rebate deal" has ended November 30, 2008. Because of this fine print message, I double checked the expiration date of the cookies on the top of the box. I was satisfied when I read the "Best Used By" date and that happens to be five months from now.
I did check it before I bought the cookies as I always am in the habit of checking the expiration dates but I wanted to be double sure of it after reading the last date to send for the rebate was back in November last year.
So, my friend and I enjoyed a "cookie break" the next day knowing our cookies were fresh. These cookies are not soft, they are crunchy and not very sweet and I must say they are very good. The chunks of semisweet chocolate were plentiful. The cookies also were plentiful as there are 18 cookies in a plastic divider inside of the box.(no, we did not eat them all) With a glass of 1% milk they are the ideal treat for a nice little dessert after a meal. Or an enjoyable snack anytime.
