drdevience's Full Review: Bag Boy Golf Cart : Express Gt Golf Push Cart
Bag Boy's top model under the PC360 ($180) is the Express ($130).. but if you ask me, the Express has it all over the 360 in spite of the lower price. On the 360, the front wheel turns which is supposed to make it easier to maneuver.. the truth is that makes the 360 squirley... almost like pushing a bad shopping cart. This is not a problem with the Express.
This was fairly easy to put together, and that's coming from someone who could screw up an assembly with only two parts. heh. It comes with an Allen Wrench, but you will also need your own Phillips head Screwdriver to get it together. If I can do it, anyone can. Took about 10 minutes tops.
The Express has a very light weight Aluminum body and air-filled 12" tires, making this cart a dream to push around. Seriously, it's like night and day. Lets coin a new phrase for it, shall we? Let's call it 'anti-work.' (I fully expect royalties if you use that!) It even comes with it's own tire pump which attaches easily to the frame so it's always there if you need it.
It doesn't store quite as compact as the pull-carts, but it's fine for us. It still fits easily into the back of our Jeep Cherokee Sport along with both our golf bags and a pull cart.
The major advantage on this type is that you push it rather than pull it, as with the traditional carts. Pulling them has a tendency to work your shoulder muscle in a way that is not good at all, resulting in undue stress and soreness.. which will ultimately have a negative effect on your game. Pushing is definitely a more desired way to go about it. I'm not near as tired now when I reach that last hole and my shoulder is in much better shape. Anti-work. heh.
Additionally, this has an adjustable padded handle, which makes it even more comfy to push around... less wear and tear on your hands. It looks damn good too. The body is a really pretty sparkley silver metal that just glitters on the course. The high-tech rust-proof aluminum wheels (steel ball bearings) are really sporty looking too. They have a sexy look to them that would not be out of place on a race car.
As far as sturdiness goes, you have two rear support brackets, and high strength support cable with metal fittings running across. I don't think even *I* can tear this baby up! The break is a pressure lock system so this easy-rolling cart won't take off down the hill while your back is turned.
The bag brackets are a tough and very sturdy aluminum, and adjustable to fit your bag. The score card holder is nice sized and extremely convenient near the top of the handle. You also have a drink holder that hangs down from the back of the handle. Now, you won't be getting a super-sized Wendy's iced tea cup in there, but it's great for average sized drinks. I really like that feature! I hate having to carry a drink while trying to push or pull my bag cart. Nice addition!
This model usually goes for about $130, but we picked it up at a tent sale for $80, so do look around! I can't believe the bargains we've been stumbling into lately. Do keep an eye out for this cart. It's worth every penny of it's full price, but if you find it on sale, grab it for sure!
