I purchased this breast pump used (I know it sounds terrible, but I also purchased all of the parts that the milk actually touches new from the manufacturer for a fraction of the cost of the whole kit). Overall it cost me $50. I was willing to try it out for when I return to work in order to get a quieter and more efficient pump than the Medela Mini-Electric that I had een using.
Boy was I floored at the great deal I got! This pump is not only quieter, but more efficient to boot! It has three suction settings for single pumping and two settings for double pumping which allow you to tailor the pump to your own needs. The only thing that I was surprised about was the need for manual release of suction by lifting your thumb off of a hole in the bottle cap every so often to simulate baby's own suction pattern. Now that I'm used to it, I'm much more productive.
On average, in 7-8 minutes I get at least 8 ounces of milk when double pumping. If I only feel like using one hand, I can single pump both in about 10 minutes with slightly less productivity.
The breast cups are a great size and I have no problem setting up the pump itself or working the motor. It looks and runs very efficiently. I look forward to using this pump for a good long time!
