| marilynn..'s Full Review: Bailey Nurture Iii |
I purchased my Bailey Nurture III from a catalog ad. The photo does not show the carry case which is a styro-foam cooler with a zip-top pouch for the pump and bottles. Also three storage bottles came with my pump. At times the whole contraption was a bit bulky, but well worth the effort.
I was working (1995-1996) at a treatment facility for juvenile offenders at the time I used the pump. I was concerned about milk leakage and the tell-tale stains it would leave on my clothing. I had used breast pumps with my other children and was disappointed at the speed or efficiency the milk was evacuated from my breasts. I also had a limited time in which to perform this task. (30 minute lunch time)
I was delighted at the ability to adjust the suction to my comfort level. Both bottles could be used at one time so both breasts were emptied at once. The speed with which this was accomplished allowed me to also eat my lunch during the time provided. The whole process of setting up the pump, pumping, taking the milk to the refrigerator and cleaning up the pump took about 25 minutes.
I would recommend this pump to new working moms because it is easy to carry, easy to use, fast and efficient. Many moms have problems with maintaining milk supply when pumping. With the Baily III I was able to completely empty both breasts enough to convince my body to maintain an adequate milk supply. I also used the pump at home on one side while my infant nursed on the other side. It is not noisy, so this did not disturb her.
I began using this pump when she was 5 weeks old, and continued using it until she was nearly 18 months old. It provided reliable and maintenance free service during this time. I had to order two replacement filter caps from the company which came quickly and with little hassle.
