I bought this for my dad for Christmas 2008 and he never got around to using it so I decided to use his to wash his work hat.
Why This Laundering Device
Have you ever washed a hat by hand or washer machine and it lost its shape, then you need this to help maintain shape while washing in a washer machine or preferably a dish washer machine.
What I Like About It
To put in short it works like a charm even when it got broke in the washer machine. My dad's Woodland Leaf Camo contractor work hat came out smelling fresh and looking virtually brand new. And since then I used a clear non-scented dish washer detergent gel.
"Both of the cap washers I have used this one (Ball Cap Buddy Cap Washer) and the Baseball Cap Washer claims to be dishwasher safe and warns not to use lemon dishwasher detergent, but does not say why; however, I imagine it has to do with staining the cap from being yellow in color generally."*
Helpful Tidbit Tips
I would recommend using a Spray and Wash Stick on the hat prior to washing to help release stains on the hat and if it is still there after wards repeat the process of applying stain stick remover and washing as many times as needed to get the stain out and it is important to not let the stain dry in after being washed as the stain could become permanent.
If you insist on using in a washing machine set the water on the lowest level setting such as small load and that will prevent the cap washer from getting ruined.
If wash with hat upright first you may need to wash upside down too if the hat is very dirty/dingy. But I have not had any problems with washing in the dish washer.
What I Do Not Like About It
Well this one got torn up the first time being used by getting stuck in the washer machine at the top and essentially cut off the left top piece in the front. I also do not like that it is available in only one color. Plus like the other one it can be difficult snapping together or un-snapping.

Sadly it comes only in the bland color of White; however, if they progress they may make them in some fun colors like black or green or any of the blue colors.
