Pros: 24-hour poker action, in-room safe access, efficient bell staff, decent food
Cons: Tried to overcharge us, so-so comp benefits
The Bottom Line: Good action in casino, blackjack crowded, good poker room, the hotel staff can use some work [expecting the fantastic bell staff]

| messiahmoose's Full Review: Ballys Las Vegas |
Overall our trip to Bally's Las Vegas was pleasant. I'll get right to the major points of our stay.
Check-in: Was relatively easy and efficient. The bell staff was quick. The ease of our check-in could have been due to our arriving Friday at noon. Lines looked much longer Saturday and Sunday.
The room: Was clean and slightly larger than your normal out-of-Vegas hotel room. We were far from the elevator, but the view of Paris' Eiffel Tower and a partially obstructed view of the Bellagio fountains across the street made the location worth it.
Tables: Very difficult to find a $10-15 blackjack table, even early Friday afternoon when there should have been several available. We were forced to head next door to Paris, where there were plenty.
Poker: I spent close to 24 hours straight in the poker "room", and the action was non-stop. The "room" is merely a roped off section of the casino floor, but it's fairly sizable with close to 12 tables. Smoking is NOT allowed here, though you are able to walk about 10 feet to where it IS allowed. If you're extremely sensitive to smoke, this definitely isn't the poker room for you. The poker room was right next to the bar... so the service was fairly quick. Though some folks at the bar got extremely noisy early in the morning doing the high-pitched "disco call", angering many folks at the tables [including myself]. The staff were sympathetic but it took them a long time to quiet them down. It almost seemed that they didn't know who to side with... the noisy bar-goers or the poker players. Eventually they quieted, whether due to boredom or the urging from the staff is unknown.
Check-out: Hands down the low point of our Bally's experience, and the reason why we will likely choose somewhere else for our next visit. Our travel agent got us the room at approx. $150 per night. It was Super Bowl weekend... and upon check-OUT Bally's upped the price to $235 per night. No amount of showing the receipt or pleading with the highly-uncaring clerk and manager worked in our favor. They simply wouldn't hear us... this was the price they wanted to charge and we were going to pay it no matter what. We actually contacted our travel agent the next day, who in turn contacted Bally's directly to get us our money back. For this reason alone... it might be best to book through a travel agent so you have someone with some clout that's able to give the casinos what for.
Food: The food was above average. The place called "Nosh" had great pastrami sandwiches, and the buffet was pleasant and tasty. Granted, we got there right when it opened so it was not crowded and the food was still fresh.
