Peachy3's Full Review: Banana Boat Aloe After Sun Lotion
Ah, warm weather is here. I for one, am very glad. Although I love the sun, I do have to be careful because I burn very easily. I have been using this product for about 5 years and I LOVE IT.
Description
Banana Boat Aloe After Sun Lotion is a cream colored cool lotion that soothes and replenishes moisture to the skin after a sunburn. Also, doubles as a daily moisturizer. It is a real unique, wonderful working product with many uses.
Container
The last couple times I purchased "After Sun" I was lucky to get the 33% More Free bottle. Ya! This particular bottle holds 21.5 fluid ounces (635 ml). The bottle is tall (10 inches high x almost 3 inches around) and slender made of a clear durable plastic. I would say virtually unbreakable. ( I've never had one break or crack.) The cap is brown with a flip up spout. You can also twist off the top if you prefer. Being tall and slender with durable plastic, the bottle stores well on your shelf. It is not easily knocked over.
About Banana Boat Aloe After Sun Lotion And It's Many Uses
I fully recommend this wonderful lotion to everyone and for all ages.
Before using this product I always used the green (or blue) aloe vera gel. Lets just say I have not bought the green gel in 5 years. (Although, I know it works well for many people and I am not downing it) Banana Boat Aloe After Sun Lotion is a moisturizing and soothing lotion which conains aloe vera & vitamin E, both excellent for the skin. These two ingredients help keep your skin moisturized and also give your skin comfort when peeling or dryness occurs (from a sunburn or "winter skin"). If After Sun is used before skin actually peels, or is dried out, will actually help prevent it. NOTE: THIS PRODUCT IS NOT A SUNSCREEN. IT AIDS IN HELPING SKIN BE MORE MOISTURIZED WHICH HELPS YOU NOT BURN AS EASILY. ALSO INTENDED FOR AFTER SUN USE TO REPLENISH MOISTURE LOST DUE TO WIND AND SUNBURN AND DRYNESS OF ANY KIND.
How I Came Across This Product
One day about 5 years ago my husband and I went to Great America Amusement Park with some friends. Unfortunately, I did not use sunscreen and we were at the park outside in 90 degree sun ALL DAY. Slap, Slap!! As you may have guessed, I have fair skin. Needless to say, when we returned home I was literally fried. I am talking lobster! It's a good thing we didn't go eat at Red Lobster on the way home. They might have mistaken me for one.
So...my husband, seeing me in agony (of the whole body, not just of "de feet" LOL), went to the store to see if he could find me some relief. He brought home lanacane sprays as well as other sprays, aloe gels, Banana Boat Aloe After Sun Lotion, and many other different products. The sprays worked for an hour or so but they caked up allowing no air to my skin making me itch and burn worse after it wore off. The aloe gel worked for about an hour and a half for me then started irritating me the same. Let me just say I have very unusual skin. After about 1 hour in the sun, without sunscreen, I start turning red. When I sunburn, my skin is extremely painful, itchy and stinging. In fact, it is almost like having poison ivy (without the rash. I watch my husband, who tans well and doesn't burn easily, when he has a sunburn and it's like nothing for him. He does not itch and hurt like that. Sometimes he is a little sore, but he can always sleep and do usual things. So, now that you know how sensitive my skin is, I decided to try the After Sun.
It worked the best by far. Keep in mind everyone's skin is different. But for me this worked the best. After Sun is not green or blue like the aloe gel but includes aloe vera gel, and is blended with vitamin E and water, lanolin, mineral oil, coconut oil, cocoa butter, collagen, and many other ingredients to make it wonderful. After taking a luke warm, non-soap shower and patting my skin (Note: See full instructions for my sunburn remedy epinion) I opened up the flip top on the bottle and squeezed some After Sun Lotion into the palm of my hand. I applied it to my sunburn. Instantly, my skin felt cooler (not cold, but cool). It is NOT greasy at all. Most importantly it allowed my skin to "breathe" and didn't suffocate it. After Sun soothed the itching for about 3 1/2 hours before needing to re-apply. The irritating burning and itching were 80% gone. It was still a little painful due to the extremity of my burn. Well, you'll have to read the article! Hint: If you have, what I call, regular skin (non-fair) then it will last longer. I could actually feel comfortable for longer than an hour or two!!! Yes! If used by itself with no other product, use for about 3 days to help skin regain its moisture balance(This After Sun Lotion by itself works very well on children with sunburns also.)

From my experience, the 5 best recommended uses are listed below.
• 1. For a sunburn- soothing comfort and relief. Apply after a sunburn (again, see my article for sunburn remedy) for soothing comfort and relief. Allow your skin to "breathe". Replenishes moisture lost due to sunburn and dryness. ( The main ingredient is water) Prevents dryness and peeling!
• 2. Daily moisturizer- Works excellent as a daily moisturizer on every part of your skin...face included. After Sun really does make your skin feel cool and great all over. The bottle actually says it provides moisture to skin that is lost from aging.
• 3. For the ladies- Such a relief for irritated, itchy legs after shaving! Remember that day when your razor was getting dull and it was the last razor in the entire house. You scoured your house looking for just one little new razor, but came to find out it's shopping time and your fresh out of new razors. So, you have to use the dull one in your shower. Eek! You shave and exit the shower only to find itchy, red legs with some bumps from the dull razor. Well, girls, I am telling you this Banana Boat Aloe After Sun Lotion works GREAT for relieving the itch and irritation and makes the bumps disappear in a short time. Apply the After Sun to your itchy legs (again my fair skin makes the itching worse for me after a dull razor) and watch the itching INSTANTLY STOP. Only one application needed for this use. This is no exaggeration! I truly LOVE this lotion! I use this lotion every time I shave....dull razor or not...because it makes my legs and skin feel so good.
• 4. Protection against "winter skin"- Use After Sun to protect against what I call "winter skin". Using this product every day to every other day in the winter prevents that dry, cracked feeling your skin gets from the cold and wind. It makes your skin feel beautiful, supple, and strong...almost firm.
• 5. Prolongs your tan and prevents peeling- After Sun actually prolongs your tan and prevents peeling. Wow! Even on my skin! I cannot express enough how wonderful this product is for me. Use daily in spring/summer to prolong your tan and to prevent peeling.

Well, there you have it. I could just keep talking about this product, but you don't have all day...so, just try it. I am absolutely sure you will like it. And for fair skinned people...you don't have to be miserable anymore with a sunburn. (Again, see my epinion mentioned above. I know you are tired of hearing that phrase. But, let me explain...originally I had this Epinion and my sunburn one together and it was WAY TOO LONG! So, I split it into two different epinions...that's why I keep referring to them both).
Please Note- Banana Boat Aloe After Sun Lotion works extremely well for me. What works for me may not work for you, but it's worth a try. I don't see how this product could not work for anyone. That's how great it is!
