Spending time in the sun means taking precautions. Sunscreen is not an option, it is a requirement, and one of the products we purchase most regularly is Banana Boat Kids Sunblock Lotion SPF 30. It provides broad spectrum UVA and UVB protection, and is waterproof and sweatproof. Banana Boat Kids Sunblock Lotion SPF 30 is also hypoallergenic, fragrance free and PABA free. This is important information to note if your children have allergies or have sensitive skin like my children do.
Banana Boat Kids Sunblock Lotion SPF 30 comes in a handy flip-cap tube. A nice, creamy easy to spread lotion that doesn't leave you feeling sticky, it provides 30 times your childs natural protection against the suns rays. You should apply it at least fifteen minutes prior to going outside. For one reason because it allows the sunscreen time to bond with the skin, providing the protection desired. Also, its so much easier to apply sunblock to a child indoors, where the distractions of other kids, the pool, the sandbox and any other delight arent present. You should also reapply at frequent intervals, especially after prolonged swimming and towelling off, and remember to use sunscreen even on cloudy days. The suns rays are still coming through those clouds, dont forget that! You should avoid contact with the eyes, of course, and consult with the doctor before using on a child under six months.
My children and I are extremely fair-skinned, and we all tend to burn quite easily at the beginning of the summer. This summer we have used Banana Boat Kids Sunblock Lotion SPF 30 regularly and we have managed to remain burn free when using it. Yes, even though this sunblock is marketed to the Kid Crowd, I used it daily when I first head out into the sun this year, and I liked it a lot. Weve had no problems with rashes, or any sort of allergic reaction to this sunblock, and we all have avoided the dreaded sunburn when using Banana Boat Kids Sunblock Lotion SPF 30. We've spent a lot of time in and out of the pool, running, playing, and just generally having a great time, and Banana Boat Kids Sunblock Lotion SPF 30 has kept us protected whenever we've used it. Of course, in order for any sunblock or sunscreen to work it has to be applied, and unfortunately my SoccerGirl went swimming at a friends this summer and no sunscreen was applied when she was there. She did end up with a burn, but that will bring a review of another great Banana Boat product!
We definitely recommend Banana Boat Kids Sunblock Lotion SPF 30, and urge you to remember to stay sun-smart. Use sunscreen, keep yourself hydrated, and have fun!
