Sometime ago, I came across the Power Rangers Wild Force Battlizer Buckle on clearance and figured my kids would enjoy it since they are not only into Power Rangers, but also into belt buckles. I figured a yellow plastic belt buckle that lit up and made sounds would go great with just about any of their outfits. (/sarcasm)
The Battlizer Buckle is just that. It's a belt buckle worn by the red power ranger and he uses the belt buckle to morph. Now you know who wears it and why, in case you ever have that trivia question come up in the future.
The buckle measures about3 inches across, 3 inches high and a good 2 inches thick. It's mostly made up of plastic with the exception of the screws holding it together. The front and the back of the buckle each have a design so it can be worn in either direction. The front of the buckle is where the lights and sounds come from and the back of the buckle is just yellow with some power ranger meaning animals carved into it.
The front of the buckle has a gold plastic covering. In the middle of the gold is a red plastic light. On top of the buckle are 2 buttons to activate the lights and sounds. If you press button A, the gold covers pop open to the sides and the red light flashes and some morphing noises can be heard. If you press button B, the doors stay closed, the red plastic spins, the light flashes and other morphing sounds can be heard. If you press both buttons together, the doors pop open, the red plastic starts spinning inside the buckle and the red light starts flashing again with yet some more different morphing noises.
The buttons are placed on top so that the child can activate the belt buckle while wearing it. The Battlizer Buckle also comes with a yellow plastic clip that the buckle snaps into and then the clip can be placed onto the childs pants. The clip is heavy and bulky but it does manage to stay on the pants. In some cases, I'm sure if the child is young enough, it may pull part of his pants down, but I'm sure they wouldn't fall completely down.
The belt buckle is big enough to play with without having to attach it to someones pants. It fits into a childs hand and it can be used that way instead.
Other than 3 or 4 different morphing sounds and some different flashing light sequences, the battlizer buckle doesn't do anything more. But simple can be good sometimes. My boys know what the buckle is there for and whats its purpose is and they use it for just that reason when playing power rangers.
I would highly recommend the Power Rangers Wild Force Battlizer Buckle for power rangers fans and only if you can find it on clearance someplace. I would have been disappointed in this toy had I spent the $15.00 on it, but since I spent 5 bucks on it, it was worth it.
The Battlizer Buckle needs 3 AAA batteries which are not included. The battery compartment is located in the back of the buckle, where the yellow carvings are and are inserted by removing the battery cover with a screwdriver.
