Pros: end fills up with water not air, longer than a single slide
Cons: not as deep or sturdy as the other brand
The Bottom Line: A less sturdy product but costs less too, you decide whether you want to spend $20 on 1 season or $30 (Whamo's doubles price) on 2 seasons
mom2emma's Full Review: Banzai Aqua Blast Dual Racing Slide
After seeing the quality of Banzai by purchasing the Banzai Wild Waves Water Park and the Banzai Water Slide Slip and Splash I am ashamed to admit I bought this. My youngest daughter is 12 mo old, when the big kids aren't using the slip and slide she likes to crawl in the spraying water because it is so gentle but even moreso she likes to crawl into the splash pool, I think she likes the freedom of being able to just crawl in and out as opposed to the confinement of the kiddie pool. So I wanted to give her a larger area. I had been looking for a double slip and slide everywhere with no luck. I found this one at Walgreens and it was on sale 50% off so only $9.99. The sucker that I am, I bought it.
I must say though, I was the least dissappointed in this product. It is longer than their single slide, it is 20' TOTAL length. The end spash area is also deeper than the single, though not as nice as even a single Whamo brand. The walls of the end are 1 piece, therefore harder to locate a hole than in the 3 piece Whamo one. However the end fills with water, not air. Water is probably not as soft to crash into but probably a little more forgiving of a tiny hole as well as helping to anchor that end of the slide. The flag is a nice touch which the kids love. It even help up to my 60 lb niece sitting on it. The whole thing though is, again, much thinner plastic than any of the competition. The water for this one comes out of a tube in the center so it splashes both sides at the same time. It definitely isn't as long or large as it appears in the pictures on the packaging. But it is not as bad a deception as a lot of their other products.
All in all I think we will enjoy this and get our $10 worth. Even at regular price it is a good bit cheaper than the Whamo double slides so I would be hard pressed to chose Whamo instead. However, I have not seen a double Whamo in person and if it is as nice as it's single it probably is worth the difference. But instead of being junk like other Banzai products, I'd give this an "average". Therefore I could cautiously recommend it to people, I would have to tell them the cons and let them decide if it was worth the price difference.
