Pros: Hours of fun, easy to store, folds completely with all accessories in it.
My 2/1/2 year old got this for Christmas from her grandmother and has not been able to stop playing with it. She plays with it everyday. I know she is under the 3 year old suggested age, but has loved Barbies since she turned 2.
Although I have to pull the hotel out and set it up for her, it is a small inconvenience compared to how long she will play with it. I greatly prefer her playing with this, using her imagination with her Barbies, than sitting in front of the t.v., especially now the weather has been nasty.
Additionally, although I am a little ashamed to admit it, I enjoy playing with it with her. She loves for me to play with her, and this is one of her few toys I can play with without going crazy.
It is a beautiful two story hotel, pink of course in the Barbie tradition, with two bedrooms upstairs, a sitting room, a vanity area, and downstairs a lobby with a check in desk, a restaurant with little food, dishes, and even coke cans, and a salon with a hair cutting chair and a little hairdryer.
The two bedrooms are connected via phone to the front lobby, and can communicate. There are over a hundred options to choose from on the phones; the rooms can call the front desk and select from a wide variety of services, including room service, spa service, etc., and then can choose the selections they want from those services, such as a hotdog from room service or a massage from the spa. Further, they can even pick what they want on their hotdog. I really like the phone option for my daughter, because she is learning to press the little buttons correctly.
The hotel is rather large, about three and a half feet across when it is set up, and about two and a half feet tall. It folds to about two feet across, and all of the accessories fit inside of it, so there are no little lost pink silverware, etc. all over the house. It folds quite easily, with floors that fold up and walls that fold in, and is extremely durable. It is a little heavy, for instance there is no way my daughter could move it on her own, but at her age that is a good thing. You do, however, definitely need to find a nice place to store it.
The only complaint I would have is that there is no storage device for the little tiny things, unless you want to put them in Barbie's little suitcases. I put the tiny pieces in a plastic ziploc bag to keep them together, and then put the bag inside the hotel with the other pieces.
All in all, this is an excellent toy. If you are a parent who has to play with your little one, this is an excellent option.
