When I first saw these dolls on the Barbie Collectibles website i was like o-kay i have to buy them fast! I was fascinated by the whole appeal. While i have never read a romance novel before, i just loved the way they looked online. The price won't bad $80. But being a college student i knew i wouldn't have enough. But luckily i bought them separately on ebay cheaper.

Pros: Barbie is gorgeous with her "Marylin Monroe" bedroom eyes look, pale skin, and contrasting makeup. Her hair is very wavy like and "flowy." Her facial expression is very interesting. It is like she is trying to pull of the Marylin Monroe "I'm sexy aren't I" look, but at the same time she looks like she wants to say "I'm sleepy, so sleepy." I like the look. It's different and i am all about being different.
Cons: I don't like her lip color. I think it is too dark for her complexion. It should of been pinkish-mauve. But that is just my opinion. I would of liked to see some blush on her cheeks to give her that "romantic" look more.

The Hunk-o-Meister Fabio Jr.Jr.
Pros: Ken has went through a major makeover. For one, he is now all buffed up with the Max Steel like body. And i mean really BUFFED. He has like an 8 pack (not that i have been looking) with a firm chest and ever so muscular legs. But the best part i really like is his FACE. He is absolutely gorgeous!!! He looks nothing like a regular ken doll. In fact, he has an exotic look. He could pass for Latin/hispanic and/or Italian. He has full lips, a nice dark tan, and eyes any girl would melt over. He is just as pretty as the barbie doll. And his hair is so sexy with the dark color and long. His facial expression is rather interesting also. Looks like he wants to say "You want me don't you?" But I still like it.
Cons: I think his neck is too thick (too much working out) and he is too buffed. They could of added muscles on him fine. But not too many. I guess it depends on the woman. But wouldn't she find him scary at first? The pose that they do when ken is holding her in his arms is cute, but i would rather see him holding her whole body in his arms. Or is that tacky?
Overall:
These dolls appealed to me online, and are actually better looking in person. I had a great time dressing them up in different clothing. I would reccomend to any collector. If you are low on cash, go to ebay. I would just buy the male doll if you have to choose. Overall, great work Mattel.
